Children

The children that attend Escape are aged between 10 years and 14 years. Most of the children have reported that they look forward to their next visit, and that the activities stimulate their minds. A typical programme will utilise numerous software applications, many of which are related to football and Derry City FC, and children are involved in group and individual tasks. The activities have proved to be popular with both boys and girls, and the structure is set so that children of various abilities can work within the same group.

The programmes are delivered by the centre manager, who is assisted by one member of staff and a pool of 15 volunteers, ensuring that each child receives sufficient one-to-one support during each lesson. All of the lessons are delivered with a high regard for the provision of support, praise and motivation for each child.
